Personally, I'm not a fan of laptops for gaming. Save some more and get a PC if possible. You definitely have more of that.
I also only played Sims 4 on my laptop at first. That went well for about a year, then it got worse and worse. Then I switched to PC and haven't had any problems since. Not even with mods and / or CC. Everything is going great.
Of course, a PC is not for everyone. But if you have the space and want to play more anyway, it would be worth considering.
I play on a laptop myself but it crashes after 1 minute if I'm not on the charging cable all the time. In addition, after a while it sounds like an airplane landing pad 💀 Everything should run very well on a real PC, it would be better if you save on it.
