I'm looking for a laptop for the university and play occasional sims. The latter is not a must, but it would be nice. I already have some laptops in mind. Important to know, I have a low budget (~ 400 euro are already painful) and no high demands. What the device should be able to do: word, simple PowerPoints, Excel, netflix, if possible Sims 3 or 4 and it should not be so weak that it falls asleep when I have 5 pages open for research purposes. It should be a 14 inch laptop.
In one shop I was advised that I need at least an i3 processor for Sims and loosely spend 500 + €. The Internet, however, says otherwise and the guy in the shop was even a gamer with a 2000 euro laptop, so definitely had other ideas. Here are the laptops available:

Another question by the way: The laptops usually have. Windows in s mode. I know that you can easily leave this one. However, no one could really tell me whether this has any negative impact on performance?
With such a tight budget, I would switch to the refurbished market…

for 3-400 euro you get very reasonable quality.
Look at Notebooksbilliger.de or Lapstore.de, which offer something like that. I've done several times well with such offers. For more than 10 years, privately use only second-hand laptops.
