I recently cleaned the fan on my laptop (Asus Zephyrus G15) and had to open the case. Immediately afterwards everything worked, but when I switched it off and switched it on again after 2 hours, the screen was black.
However, he still recognizes my second monitor. As a result, I then tried every possible Internet tip. (The RAM installed and removed, drivers updated via the device manager and reset via Windows).
I personally believe that it is not a hardware error because the screen is completely black (as well as switched off) and not even the smallest flicker appeared at any moment.
Now I'm looking for possible solutions because I can't send the laptop for repair due to distance learning at the moment!
You opened the case - could it be that you accidentally loosened / disconnected the connection between the mainboard and the screen?
I then checked that again afterwards and to be on the safe side I plugged in and unplugged the cable, but nothing changed. Could it be that I caught the wrong cable?
