Sure, they do a very important task and fulfill their purpose without exception, but I ask the question:

I use one all the time. It is very quiet, so that I don't notice it. You just have to see if your laptop has ventilation slots at the bottom where the CPU is. If not, there's little point in putting a cooler underneath. Then it would be better to take someone who "sucks" the hot air out
