I have a relatively old Vaio Sony laptop - it no longer has a battery and only runs when the power cord is always on. There was a loose connection and now my laptop always starts again and again but does not actually start - when I press the FN key it says "BOOTMGR missing - restart with Ctrl + Alt + Del" (which does not work if I do this) Press 3 buttons)
This has happened before and has been fixed, but I don't know how. Now, after 2 years, my mistake and the thoughtless loose contact have brought it back. Now I have read that it is via the USB stick, because I do not have a DVD for it. Now my question is:
How is that supposed to work?
I already have a program on the USB stick, but how do I load it into my laptop when it has to be opened?
What model do you have? Most of the time, it's on the bottom of the laptop.
First of all, there's no support for Windows 7 anymore. But you can still switch to Windows 10 for free. The Windows 7 key is also accepted when activating Windows 10.
There's a sticker with the Windows 7 key on the bottom of the laptop. Write this down. Then download the Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website. You can use it to create a Windows 10 USB boot stick.
Then simply boot the created stick and follow the instructions of the assistant. It offers the possibility to delete everything. You should do that. When the installation is complete and Windows 10 starts for the first time, the setup wizard will offer to create a Microsoft account. You should do that too. As a final step, simply activate Windows 10 with the Windows 7 Key. The activation will then be saved permanently in your Microsoft account.
If you have to reinstall Windows 10, just log in again with your Microsoft account. Then it is automatically activated again. You no longer have to enter the key.
If you turn off all desktop effects in Windows 10, it will even run faster than Windows 7.
But Windows 7 key is still available on the Internet right? I actually have the program on the stick, only my laptop does not react to it and still hangs when starting up, as if I had to activate something in / on the stick but I have no instructions, so to speak, what is missing right now
Why should you delete everything? The first time I thought it worked without - thank goodness I've already moved everything to a hard drive but I've never had to delete it
