Do you have to have a SIM card for the Signal app and do you have to have your cell phone next to your laptop and have it on when you use the desktop version?
You install an app on a cell phone. SOWIESO have a SIM card that works.
You install the desktop version on a desktop PC. The cell phone can be frozen in the Arctic. They don't talk to each other.
But with the desktop version of the app comes - during installation - a window where you have to scan any barcode…
So with the cell phone you have to scan a barcode and do something with it, I think. My only question was whether the app can ONLY be used on the desktop WITHOUT A MOBILE PHONE…
Your question was absolutely different. And even someone WITHOUT a cell phone like me can answer that.
I do not know the app but one thing is certain you can see when downloading you just have to read what it says.
I've already googled but haven't found anything, so I'm asking here. And I don't have a cell phone either.
Then how do you get to THE question?!
Because I want to know and only want to install Signal on the laptop!
