I'm looking for the university a reliable laptop that is fast and easy to play programs such as MATLAB, Originlab or latex.
I have now ordered an i7 with 128GB SSD + 1GB HDD, the 12GB RAM
Now I wonder if an i7 would be better with 256GB and 8GB RAM
I'm really concerned that the calculator is reliable and does not cause any problems, you think that the one I ordered can keep his word.
The upper one seems to be stronger. But that does not have to be, because the numbers behind the i7 are interesting. So, which processors are in it?
The reliable operation of a computer does not depend on whether you have 8 or 12 GB RAM or a 250 GB SSD instead of 128 GB.

It's okay. With 128 GB for Windows I would install there only the most important programs, everything else and the user profile folders (documents, pictures, Vdeos, music etc) on the HDD outsource.

For your purposes certainly more than adequate. Personally, the 128GB SSD would definitely be too small for me. However, this is primarily due to the applications and software suites I use (Adobe CC, Microsoft Visual Studio…).
Also as far as the installed RAM is concerned. Either I immediately buy a model that has at least 12GB of RAM installed, or make sure that a service flap is available. Say you can upgrade the RAM later.

In and of itself, it looks pretty good and can actually work fluently. More exactly one can only say, which CPU was installed exactly. Say many cores and threads. Also, the GPU was not named. Is there just a graphics chip or is it ne graphics card on board?
A well-intentioned tip: Buy an external SSD / HDD for backup. If for some reason it happens, your data will not be lost. I installed in my HO Envy synonymous 1TB HDD. Nevertheless, all the important documents regularly shovel over to my NAS.
128 GB of SDD memory is enough. I have no more in my laptop - there are several programs installed and all data stored by the university. Normal documents you can synonymous without problems on the HDD store, that's fast enough.
