I need help. I'm sure that my microphone input is broken.
So I use a headset on my laptop. I could always talk and hear with this one. It was connected via AUX.
Since the day before yesterday my laptop was making a very loud beeping sound. This then stays for about 30 seconds, then it goes away and a short time later it came back. But as soon as I connect something to the AUX input, it stops.
At first I was sure that there was a problem with my hard drive, as I often heard it making this noise when an error occurred there. Later I realized that it wasn't the hard drive, but the microphone input.
I can still hear, but I can't talk. The headset works on every other device so this is not the problem.
I have a similar problem as another user on good question. But no answer could help me there.
I really need it badly. Especially in the current situation. The beeping that comes up is also a headache.
Check times that all drivers are updated.
The entrance is probably broken. What you could do is get a USB headset or try to find an adapter that converts audio input and output to USB
