I'm now using a headset for the first time.
However, I have not been able to use the microphone so far.
My laptop has only one input socket for such audio plugs.
According to the device information, it is combined for headphones and microphone.
The microphone just doesn't respond at all.
There's also a top section with two cable ends, the second should be for the microphone input socket. However, I have never actually had a laptop that has this second socket.
Now my question, does anyone know if you can somehow get the microphone on this laptop working? No matter which way.
Would be quite important, since I would rely on a laptop-external microphone.
Did you also mark the microphone as an input device?

Usually in the program in which you want to use it. Which operating system and in which program do you want to use it for example?
I have Win10 Home and would want to use the microphone for Discord. During a voice test on Discord, I noticed that the microphone is apparently inactive.
If you click on the settings in the lower left and then (right in the middle) on Voice & Video. There you then enter your microphone under Input Device. Then it should work.
