I'm looking for a tablet to complement the laptop during my studies. I've read that Ipads are better than Android tablets.
Now I'm wondering if that makes any sense if I don't have any Apple products.
The Samsung Galaxy tab s6 lite and the Tab s7 could be considered for Android products
Maybe somebody can help me?
I started with an iPad under the same conditions. Everything worked out fine. The iPad is a good-natured piece of hardware.
After I was convinced of the iPad and the Apple brand, I "converted" bit by bit. First iPhone, then Apple TV, then Apple Watch and recently Mac mini (the new one with an M1 chip). I'm now in the process of shoveling over the usable data from my old PC, getting the appropriate programs and learning how to use MacOS Big Sur. Now, of course, everything works much better - because the Apple universe is internally consistent.
Then: Farewell Intel i5 and Windows 10.
I just got a new laptop, so unfortunately I don't plan to switch to Apple completely.
How about the different file formats, or do you have a tablet recommendation?
They don't play that important role. Image files and audio files are processed by all three systems. Office programs (Windows) are available as apps for the iPad. Cross-system apps such as OneNote, Evernote, 1Password etc. Run on all systems. Email is retrieved on the iPad in the same way as on the other devices - and if you have an IMAP account, it is also synchronized. Contacts and calendar - no problem.
The advantage of the iPad is that you will likely get the updates of the operating software for years and that they will be on the device on the same day. With Android that's such a thing…
Of course, you can also use a Windows tablet. There's practically only the Microsoft Surface. I once had that as a service tablet. It's a good box too.
So would you gravitate towards an iPad? If so, which one? I'm a little undecided.
I bought the S6Lite, but unfortunately I'm not so convinced on the first impression.
Depends on your needs. I have the iPad (no pro, no Air) of the sixth generation (2018). That was the first one that worked with the Pencil. 128 GB of storage for 437 EUR back then. Don't eat today either.
The maddening device is the new iPad pro with the M1 chip - you don't need a PC anymore. But that's expensive.
Thank you for your help.
I would like to be able to edit the lecturers' slides without having to print everything out, and for private use I would still use Youtube and Netflix.
PowerPoint runs on the iPad (and I don't think so. I even think that the free Apple program Keynote can read ppt slides. But I don't know exactly. There's a YouTube app, Netflix too.
