I want to print a file with my laptop (Linux Mint). So I opened the file with the document viewer. Dan pressed ctrl + p. The window for printing followed. BUT our printer (Canon MX720 Series, which is completely intact) is not displayed. Instead, only print to file and print.
Now look at the pictures below. Beit Print stands orders are rejected and when I click on it, the status comes Information about the printer is fetched… I wait not 5, not 10, but 20 minutes and still the status display just stops. Please help me who can!

No printer driver installed?
I would reinstall the printer on the laptop again
That is not the problem. It worked before, without a driver. In addition, when I print with another app, the quality is super bad, it uses a lot of ink and it feels like 99999 years
You can't do without a driver. If so, the driver was also installed when Mint was installed. I would also try reinstalling, as advised by @ leon2025. I also had problems with mint and printing. Then I switched to another OS.
Do it on your cell phone.
Obviously you haven't set up the printer on your laptop yet, otherwise it would appear under Printer. Instead it just says "print to file". One line up should be displayed, but the field where the tick should go is empty. Now I'm not familiar with Linux, but in any case you have to install your printer there first…
Ok i try
Even worse
If I haven't set it up, how can I print with other applications? (Albeit super bad)
I'm not quite clear what you did there. You may be using a generic printer driver. It can do almost nothing and is not tailored to the printer.
You should install a suitable driver for your printer. They are also available for Canon printers. Drivers can be found here:
