Windows 10: Programs removed. That is better?

Dear community.

Today btw. Just 10 minutes ago. I threw all programs from my computer (notebook) because I watched videos on YouTube to improve my computer. For a long time I had Avast Antivirus, Avast CleanUp, Avast Driver-Updater installed, but now it is END!

The person in the video was a pc specialist and also said that deffender protection would suffice, because the other 3 vendors only slowed down the pc and cost unnecessarily money. The Windows Deffender has gotten stronger and better over time, which is why I want to trust it now in combination with the new Microsoft Edge Browser, which also has par security tools. At the moment I only use this one because I totally like it! Visually and technically very nicely solved… Basically I just want to rely on Microsoft's security. But that's not my main point!

This is my basic question:

Like all professionals, one should always say no boosters, cleaners, etc. Use more from other manufacturers because they only contribute to the deterioration of the computer. However, this little cleaning tool in the settings is not enough for me, but wants something more…

Do you know a clean program or tool? (no CCleaner etc!)… Even if it were possible something like a Driver Updater so that I can keep drivers up to date.

Je

I'm a little confused, why not a CCleaner? Is currently the best free

Gu

Ccleaner is also one of the 3 software providers?

An

However, this little cleaning tool in the settings is not enough for me, but wants something more

What other programs offer you is just show… They do nothing, or nothing really useful. You don't need boosters, not even those from M $ crosoft forget.

And for what Driver Updater? As long as I used Windows, I never had driver problems. Windows can do that itself quite well and if you have exotic hardware then you install it once and it is good. Don't worry so much about your computer. When all programs are down, it is doing pretty well.

Oh yeah and I wouldn't take edge…

Gu

Hmm. Is CCleaner at least recommended as a secondary cleaner for unnecessary data and registry deletion?

Gu

Why not Edge?

Se

I do not claim that the Ccleaner is harmful, I had it before. Just why should you install the Ccleaner when the disk cleanup on Windows is just as good. Because every additional program does what you actually want to prevent and saves resources.

First of all, I agree with you that the protection provided by MS Defender and an attentive PC user is effective and sufficient.

I have been a fan of a slim Windows for a long time and use 3 ways:

On C: / only the bare essentials that Windows itself needs
Use all tools and programs as "portable" if possible
Store all user programs and data on a second hard drive

To 2: There's now a huge number of programs, tools and tools that can be used in Windows without installation / registration. It is called "portable programs". These can also be copied onto a stick and then taken away. So you have e.g. The favorite browser with all settings and favorites also in the computer cafe!
Another advantage - no registry entry, no traces in the PC and when not in use - no PC resources!
I use this collection: https://portableapps.com/

to 3: outsource all "libraries" of Windows to D or external storage

To relieve the SSD from the many memory accesses, I use a large RAM and use a RAMDISK. I store the Temp folder on the RAM disk (so it doesn't have to be deleted) and the portable programs that I use.

For cleaning, I use the Windows tools for the hard drives and the CCleaner-portable. For driver update the Slimdriver-portable. Unfortunately, a wrong / non-working driver is installed every now and then during a Windows update, which I check and correct.

🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️! ️

Although after the data scandal by Avast I think it is advisable to detach yourself from the products in order to switch to another product… So it is not exactly wise to do something that a (cough) "PC expert" on YouTube expresses blindly.

Professionals do not use cleaners because they do not need them, because they handle their machines properly or can easily carry out the necessary work without "cleaners".

Laypersons should at least not use registry cleaners, since they can do a lot more damage if they don't know exactly what they're doing.

No, the Defender is not enough as a virus scanner. (Take a look at the demonstrations on https://www.thepcsecuritychannel.com/. Depending on the scenario, you have Ratzfatz encryption trojans and other debris on board).

What you need would be a good basic computer course.
No tool, no know how to replace.

Ev

The CCleaner is a very good program. You just have to know what you are doing. Above all, this cleans the residues of deleted files from the disk.

Before you delete orphaned entries in the registry, you can make a backup copy of the deleted elements and, if necessary, play them back again.

Ha

Windows and security is an incompatible contrast! Windows was never secure, is not secure, and will never be secure. That's for sure! Then: Very good decision to uninstall the dirt savast and the other dirt tools! You don't need a virus scanner or internet security. It's been like that forever. The Windows 10 DEFENDER is quite good, it can run and scan. But it does not protect and it does not prevent encryption by these dirty blackmail Trojans! Thousands of users are infected with these Trojans every day because the virus scanners are all unable to ward them off. The best virus scanners in the company can recognize a lot of malware, but a few can't, and they end up in the inbox, and even if you have installed the best Microsoft Office 365 with the latest Excel 2019, three mouse clicks pass before it damn encryption trojan has encrypted all files in a few minutes!

When "all professionals always say no boosters, cleaners etc.", they also mean: no cleaners, boosters etc., WETF!
I always told the TuneUP Utilities victims that they should give me the money whenever they need to spend money on a damn cleaner program again, and I immediately took the 25 euro off the last CCleaner Professional subscription victim for the next annual subscription, Now he wants to buy CCleaner Professional Plus for 40 euro a year, OMG! You don't learn it! Unfortunately, they are victims. Please do not clean your Windows. Clear the dirt that arises when surfing with CONTROL + SHIFT + REMOVE, run the Windows Cleaner Tools.

And if you really can't help but use a recommended tool, take OldTimers Temp File Cleaner that you want
http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/
can download. But please surf with uBlock Origin or another good ad blocker, I think the advertising criminals are definitely very penetrative and then you quickly click on the wrong download button.

Keep your hands off these incompetent driver updates, they are all useless! Make a graphics card driver update five times a year with the drivers that match your card so you can play better, or render and upload faster!

As far as I know, the disk cleanup has been removed in the latest updates from Windows 10 or is only very very cumbersome to reach or no longer exists. This makes CCleaner one of the best alternatives.

Gu

Thank you!

Gu

OK.

Se

That is nonsense. Disk cleanup is still available on Windows 10, even with the latest updates.
