Question about Veracrypt?

If Verycrypt completely encrypts the hard drive and the Windows user has no password, what happens if you briefly press the power button on the laptop while it is on, the laptop quasi hibernates? Is the password then requested to decrypt the hard drive or what exactly happens then?

This puts the laptop into energy-saving mode, i.e. An image of the system together with the key remains in the RAM.
