Hola,
I don't quite understand the principle. How do you use the docking station correctly?
So it is clear that you plug the notebook into the docking station and boot up the notebook. But if I now, for example, undock the notebook, i.e. Take it out of the docking station and plug it in again without switching it off beforehand or something similar, the mouse and keyboard no longer work, monitors, etc. Work. Is there somehow a principle how to do it right without something like that happening?
Dell Latitude 7410 should be.
But if I now e.g. Unplug the docking station and plug it in again without switching it off or something similar
Why should you unplug the dock (from power?)?
If you only undock the notebook, there should be no problems.
No I undock the notebook, sorry wrongly expressed.
We don't have the Dell Latitude but a different notebook from Dell, but switching is easy even during operation.
What kind of docking station do you use?
Mouse and keyboard are attached to the dock via USB?
Right, all peripheral devices are attached to the dock, if you take the notebook out and put it back in again, the mouse keyboard doesn't work.
Dell Thunderbolt WD19TB I think.
Ok, we never worked with a USB-C docking station to this extent. We still have the old ones with us that go directly into the expansion port of the laptop.
We only have a mouse and keyboard partly on a USB hub and there's usually no problem if you disconnect the hub and plug it in again. So usually you don't have to do any additional actions.
The problem is unknown to me. Dozens of Dell devices with dock are in use here.
Bring the device and the dock up to date, because:
Note: Update your laptop's BIOS and Dell Docking Station drivers to the latest from the Dell website
https://www.dell.com/...pp=drivers versions available before using the docking station. Older BIOS versions and drivers can mean that the docking station is not recognized by the laptop or that it does not function optimally.
