Good evening…
I wanted to clean the fan on my Dell xpsl702x notebook from 2012. However, I canceled this project relatively quickly. I carefully removed the hard drive (under the RAM) and the RAM, and reinstalled them exactly as they were. What did I do wrong? Everything went wonderfully before the expansion.

Are you sure that you have reassembled everything correctly and, if necessary, re-established plug connections?
Especially with the right SODIMM you can see a lot of the contacts. Too much if you ask me It also looks like the retaining spring isn't engaging the groove.
What did I do wrong?
According to the photo you have not installed the RAM correctly.
Your RAM is not properly inserted in the slot
The right RAM bar is not in the slot at all. Depending on how far you have disassembled the device, a cable could have come loose somewhere. And if you have been lucky and have not previously grounded yourself, there could be more damage and the device is in the bucket…
Many Thanks! Right, I don't have a lot of experience, but now I know for life: Let the RAM lock properly. Shame. For every 3 stress cigarettes there's now one to relax, thank you very much:,)
