I have a fairly old printer (HP Laserjet 1020). He worked perfectly with my old laptop, now with the new one (Dell XPS). He recognized the printer, but when I go to "Devices and Printers" it appears. But if I want to print a document, nothing works and under "Printer" you can see that an error message comes up and it is shown that the problem is a document in the queue (that's what I just wanted to print) , If I delete it and try again, it is the same again.
Does anyone know something? I do not understand and can help me too badly.
Did you update the software correctly? Are all the drivers installed correctly with your new one? Does the printer have enough paper, ink etc?
First of all thank you! So it can't be on paper and ink, everything is full. I do not know much about drivers / software… How can I check if the right program is installed?
Can I not tell you on the spot? But was there a CD with the printer? You can google it time if you find a suitable software for your printer, some are already around there. Exactly the same way you can also look over Google how to check the drivers.
Yes, I will do that! Ne CD was not there, or is already so old that there's nothing left.
You can download the entire driver package for this printer from the printer manufacturer's website
Here is the entire driver package included just select the operating system and which version: https://support.hp.com/...del/439428
It should work after installing the driver
Please give feedback if it worked
The problem is the printer queue. The unprocessed print jobs block the expressions.
You must delete the print queue.
In the Control Panel, invoke the Services, there disable the Print Queue service.
Then you go to C / Windows / Spool32 / Printers to the printer queue, open this folder and deletes the corrupted print jobs.
Afterwards activate the service Print queue again in the service management.
This printer queue is not very well regulated in Microsoft Windows, it can drive the user crazy.
It is best to write a batch script, then you can easily delete the printer spooler through the script.
