How can the Canon MG5750 printer be connected to the laptop with a cable?

I had previously connected the printer to the laptop via Wi-Fi. Now would like to scan in a school where there's no Wi-Fi. I press on the printer to scan, comes: "set the PC to start scanning". The laptop recognizes the printer (MG7500 series printer (copy)) when I call it in settings. At least that's the field that disappears when I pull the printer cable out again.
Now I have reinstalled the complete software package "Canon PIXMA MG series". I come to the point where I click on "Connect by USB", then the program asks me to plug in cables and turn on the printer. After I do that, the program responds, "The printer is detected, please wait until the installation is complete."
Then nothing happens until the program suddenly notifies me: "The printer is not recognized, please check the connection".
I have already connected the printer with 2 different cables (on the cable can hardly be). In addition, I have downloaded the software package two times, the laptop in between and off again, as well as the printer.
Now I'm at a loss as to what options could still exist… Is it because of a laptop? Maybe my cable connector from the printer is broken? Is something in the settings that you could change?
Please, many times for help!

Spontaneously comes to mind: go into the device manager and look there for the printer when it is connected. Then you can update the drivers with right-click. Maybe he finds newer drivers here and it works.

Otherwise you could try to install the printer on another laptop / PC. If it works, it's probably on your laptop. If not, it probably lies on the printer and you would have to let him check through times.

These are unbelievably cheap printers. Cheap and not cheap.

Also the software is programmed incredibly bad.

Try it on another USB port. Merh as you try again and again you will not really be able to.

Especially since there will most likely be the software only in this weird overall version.

Thanks for the detailed description.

Did you install the software package twice? Did you fix it? Sometimes you have these options.

It is important that you completely delete the "old" program beforehand (Control Panel - Programs) and only then install the "new" program. Normally, the install wizard of the driver should recognize that it is already installed.

Maybe you throw the whole driver down again (Control Panel) and then try it without it. Windows drivers are actually compatible with the MG devices (slightly slower than drivers and with less print options).

Then I would then try again the original driver (suitable for your device - MG Series 57) to install clean.

True, had such a part itself sometimes. Has held 5 months. These are right scrap parts.
