I forgot the password for my Windows 10 laptop and can no longer enter with the administrator account. Have already tried it with the command prompt via restart, but since the screen of the laptop is defective I have to use an external monitor. But when I do it that way, he switches to the normal screen when prompted. Now, unfortunately, I don't know what else I can try.

Or reinstall.
You can start the prompt on the login screen with a trick and then change your password there, you need a Linux live CD. Instructions are available from Sempervideo.
You can change your Windows password with a Linux Live system that runs via USB stick or DVD.
There are tutorials on YouTube like Sand am Meer.
otherwise maybe:
You would need Linux as an operating system on a USB stick. Then you could start Linux via the boot menu and then search for the password hashes of Windows 10 with preinstalled programs and then take the hash value with Samdump2 and crack it with JohnTheRipper. At least that worked for me.
Look at YouTube maybe there are tutorials there.
