Why does the ventilation go crazy when I play an old game?

I installed the game "Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition" from the Steam Shop and wanted to play it, but the ventilation of my laptop quickly became so loud that I had to end the game. I have played hundreds of hours of Minecraft, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and other games without any problems.

What can it be that turns up the ventilation so much?

Maybe in this game your dedicated graphics card is running. Which in Minecraft by default does not work if you do not set… Is just a dumb Java application.
And Baldur's Gate does not look like your laptop needs more than the onboard graphics card.

And many laptops use a cooling circuit for CPU and GPU and then it just gets warm. That's why I bought a laptop with 2 separate cooling circuits.

Neverwinter Nights is graphically but still behind Baldur's Gate. And I did not even get into the game, just until the character creation. The box sounded as if he were about to take off.

The device is from this year and actually pretty fast. Playing Technically, there were no problems.

It is still the question of whether a game on the integrated graphics card or the dedicated / high performance graphics card is running.
The latter just gets warm.

Maybe the game is badly programmed, so it draws a lot of power even though it's not that complex (do not know the game)

I've just checked it out: My laptop has only one graphics card. The braces but far greater benefits than Neverwinter Nights, which also did not even run properly but has only text displayed on a dark screen.

What could still be the matter?
