Computer program from USB stick install?

I have a computer program that is installed from a CD. However, I have no PC drive on my new laptop. Is it somehow (and if so, how?) Possible that I install the program on my old laptop with a CD drive on a USB stick and this then almost replaced the CD? Or. What is there for ways to get this program on my laptop without a CD drive.

So there's the program also as a download to buy. But since I already own it, I do not really want to buy it again, especially since this is a very unsightly sales strategy…

If the CD is just an installer, you can simply copy it to the stick.

Ge

Copy the CD to the stick and run the setup from there.

Unfortunately it does not work. So I copied everything that was on the CD to the stick and then wanted to install it. The installation also starts, but then comes the information that the installation file would be broken.

Another option would be to share the CD drive on the network.

Easier said than done. I have released the drive I believe. But how do I get there now?
