Data recovery from broken cell phone?

Also… I found my old cell phone while cleaning it up and turned it on, was amazed at what other pictures there are.
The phone just went out after a short time and since then I have not been able to get it! Can I still save the data?
I already tried it on the laptop, but it doesn't recognize the cell phone. I also tried to start the recovery mode. The cell phone doesn't even charge! It's a Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE! Should I possibly order a new battery? Or is hops and malt lost?

The latter with hops and malt is to be expected!
