I pulled Parrot OS onto a laptop, but I have no sound and already scoured the entire Internet for a solution. Does somebody has any idea?
Possibly looking for device drivers?
Well, if you have "searched the entire Internet", surely you will also know the usual questions and would have attached the information.
Start with what kind of PC you have and what kind of hardware is in it - the exact model of the sound card / sound chip would then also be important. Then you can google it to see if there are any known problems… Parrot OS is based on Debian, which is why you could also use the mark in the search…
In general, you can go through ALSA's trouble shooting: https://alsa.opensrc.org/Troubleshooting
What kind of sound package do you use?
Have you tried another distro and did it work there? Or did you choose Parrot directly
Give times the speccs of your PC. Mainboard, CPU, GPU, sound card, connections. For example, read out via lshw.
Have you already checked Alsamixer to see if it is muted there?
Have you ever opened Pulseaudio Volume Control and looked what is set there?
