I have a Compaq Armada 1570 laptop with Windows 98 SE, and since Windows is not working properly I wanted to reinstall it with a Windows CD I burned myself. So I put the CD in before installing, but the laptop booted from the hard drive again. I don't know how to get into the BIOS either.

How to get into the BIOS is shown on the POST screen. Usually this is with the remove button. [Entf] (or [Del] if you have an English keyboard label).

If 98SE does not want to start from CD at all, you can also install DOS 6.22 from discrete and then start the 98SE setup under DOS.
