I recently bought a laptop (Windows 10, before 7).
Now I have a hard drive on which I have saved pictures. With my old laptop I can see all the pictures (2008-2020 each in a folder). On my new laptop, I can open the images from 2008-2016 and 2020, but I can't open the images from 2017-2019.
What could be the reason?
An external hard drive?
I can't open the one from 2017-2019
What happens if you try? Nothing? Or is there an error message? If yes, which? What program do you use to open the pictures?

Only authorization is missing for these directories and therefore can't be accessed. I had a similar problem with an external hard drive. This is not rocket science and is relatively easy to fix. Go through the following simple steps "step by step".
Right-click to open the context menu on the folder concerned
Click Properties in the context menu
Select the "Security" tab in the "Properties" dialog
At the bottom click on "Advanced"
Change the owner in the "Advanced security settings" dialog
Apply changes to all directories and files
Then you should actually have full access again and be able to open the folders and images very easily. If this is not the case or you have further questions, you can simply register again. Then we'll see if the whole thing has a different cause.
