Windows 7
I have plugged a lan cable into my laptop with Windows 7 but this is not recognized but it works 100%
Maybe the ethernet adapter is deactivated or broken or wrong drivers. Look in the device manager and Google
Obviously the driver for your ethernet module is not installed or is not correct.
maybe the module is also deactivated in the bios or is not working properly. I would do all of them in order. If nothing else helps, there are also USB ethernet adapters.
You should no longer use Windows 7 because there's no support for it. In addition, new web browser versions will no longer run under Windows 7 at some point. But you can still upgrade to Windows 10 for free. This is how it works: https://www.giga.de/...kostenlos/
It is also recommended to create a Microsoft account. Windows 10 activation is then permanently saved in there. If you have to reinstall Windows 10, simply log in again with your Microsoft account. Then Windows 10 is automatically reactivated. It is not necessary to enter the product key.
If the upgrade does not work because the laptop e.g. If it is too weak, I can also recommend installing a Linux distribution. For example Linux Mint Xfce. This even requires less system resources than Windows. Here is the download of the ISO: http://mirrors.evowise.com/linuxmint/stable/19.3/linuxmint-19.3-xfce-64bit.iso After downloading the ISO, write it with Rufus https://rufus.ie/ on an empty formatted USB stick. Then boot the stick and follow the instructions of the assistant. It offers the possibility to delete everything and immediately sets up the hardware and the Internet. I recommend a full installation. The latest Firefox, LibreOffice, multimedia components and tools are also installed.
Here's what the Linux Mint Xfce desktop looks like:
If new program versions (e.g. Firefox, Libreoffice etc.) appear, the update manager reports this. Then you can update. You can also automate that. If a new Linux Mint version appears, the update manager also reports and offers an update. Your settings will be retained after the update.
