We have gigabit internet, my console only gets 150-300mbits despite a LAN connection. My Lan cable is a Cat5e. In general, the laptops etc. Also get about the same, so far no 1 gigabit.
What can it be and what can you do to get much more out of it?
Did you check if all devices support Gigabit-Lan?
It may be that the line simply does not give the 1 Gigabit are "up to" worth.
It may also be that you tested on a bad speed test site. If you haven't tested the speed at all, it is also possible that the servers where you wanted to download something simply couldn't send the 1 gigabit at least not at the time.
The first thing you can do is do a couple of speed tests (if you haven't done so yet) I always use "How's my Ip.de"
And if they confirm your values you can call the provider. It can also be about line noise or something like that then the settings can change and improve that.
In general, what you should have at least if you have measured correctly is a value of over 500 Mbit.
On the Internet or in the local network?
My console 100% if only one of the laptops doesn't
Did you test the connection with another cable?
Are there any devices (e.g. Switch, hub, own router, powerline) between provider modem / router and end device?
Do all devices support 1GbE (1 Gigabit Ethernet)?
Are there any other downloads during the test?
What does the internet provider say?
I know all that. After more than 100 speed tests on several pages, the values are confirmed. Of course, the provider doesn't do anything about it and according to the technician, everything is okay (as always).
unfortunately I can't think of any more: / at least 500-600 mbits it would be understandable.
Yes
No, the only obstacle is that a LAN cable runs through the wall into the other room
All but one device
No
Of course nothing there where everything looks ok.
Much less in the local network and via Wi-Fi
It may be that the network is busy or simply no longer gives up.
My advice: annoy the telecommunications company until you are forwarded to 2nd level support, or they initiate a more detailed investigation.
I don't understand it either. Yes, I called often but the companies don't do anything. I don't know any more.
Do you have AC Wi-Fi on the router and laptop?
I'm not sure, so I have the Vodafone station, I don't think I have a laptop. But why AC-Wlan if I already get little with LAN anyway?
How do you do the speed tests? Are you copying a 5GB ISO file from a NAS to your computer?
On the Xbox I can do the speed tests directly on network settings. Otherwise at vodafone speedtest or how is my ip.de
The speed test on the XBOX loads data from the Internet, not from the local LAN.
Where is the problem? How else do you do that?
Data in the local network can be transmitted at 1 Gbit / s. The bottleneck is the internet connection. What use is 1 GB in the local network if only 200 Mbit / s come from the Internet service provider from outside.
What internet contract do you have?
That private connections have 1GBit would be new to me…
Vodafone Cable Max 1000
My girlfriend has the same contract and she always comes with over 700mbits.
You can sue Telekom. You don't have fiber.
It's because of the internet connection. Any ancient PC can do that.

Try an alternative speed test. What does Speedtest.org or others say?
Everything about the same. Kp more
