PC very slow and jerky, what to do?

My laptop is 4 years old and I never had any problems with it until now. But two weeks ago, it started with the fact that he simply hung himself when moving files to a disk and that even after the 5th reboot.

Now it is that he is very jerky and very slow. This is made clear by hangs in between (every 10 to 30 seconds) for a few seconds, then followed by a loud noise and then everything seems to be all right again until it happens again. I have rewired Windows, updated the drivers and tested the hardware with various programs, but there's no solution yet.

You could open the Task Manager and see what causes the high utilization. Otherwise, screw it on and clean the fan.

A few data on the laptop would not be bad to help you further.

Did you also check the RAM and the hard drive for errors? How are the temperatures?

I would tap on the hard disk. You can also google the beep, depending on the type of sound (duration and repetitions) often describes the problem.

To test the Rams: Memtestx86

Hard disk: About Windows or Crystal Disk Info

Replace hard disk with SSD! Bring speed and safety.
Another tip: cheap SSDs from ScanDisk, for example, never make the specified speeds. Dear Cruzial or Samsung buy. For years in use never had problems.

Otherwise also just in the computer management - event log - system look. As stands for such mistakes really often useful, such as Atapi = HDD or something.

The problem is that I have a laptop and because they are specially designed, I can't replace the internal hard drive internally and externally it is not optimal. But I'll take a look at the second tip, thanks.
