At the moment I'm still using a notebook with roughly the following features:
AMD Quad Core 2.0 GHz
AMD Radeon R5 M240 (entry-level model, I already found out)
4 GB of DDR3 RAM
SATA hard disk (not SSD)
The problem is that the notebook, despite reinstalling today's requirements probably no longer meet. The CPU usage is not, it seems to be more the access time to the hard disk. Because whenever only a Windows update is running or the virus scanner scans, it is almost impossible to call an Excel spreadsheet.
I'm not a gamer type, i. Games are unimportant to me. That does not mean that I would like to fall back therefore on a 100-euro-Rechner, because Multimedia including videos (if necessary with processing) should run smoothly. And do not stop when there are any updates.
Would it be sufficient in my case to switch to an SSD hard drive? If not, what should be in a new, modern Windows multimedia PC?
Are 2.0 GHz quad-core not enough? How much should it be?
Are 4 GB of RAM too little for 64 bit?
What should one pay attention to?
I would be very happy about helpful answers.
To these belongs however now no "take Linux" or something.
He should not be too heat resistant.
The title Gaming PC should not scare you. This is actually only hinted that the PC is powerful, which is why you, too, because you intend Bildbarbeitung, should also access a gaming PC.
Important for you SSD and at least 8GB Ram. Graphics card should be a vega 56 or better, and processor should be a ryzen 5 of the 3000 series
The only finished PCs with a decent price performance can be found on hardwarerat.de
SSD could help try it out.
But if you want to buy a PC, 4gb of RAM will suffice (unless you are editing videos or working with big ones) 8-12 GB would be better. CPU I do not know me so well aus.Für videos for extracting a fast CPU makes sense, however, I own only a Pentium of AMD and makes his work very well.
In the end, keep in mind that PCs are usually faster (even with the same hardware) than laptops.
I would definitely recommend you switch to 8GB Ram is perhaps not yet necessary today but as the requirements continue to rise and you certainly do not want to get in a year or two new things would be my opinion 4 GB too little but 16 GB need you do not, if you do not intend to operate gaming. Otherwise, you should pay attention to this, if you need one, a DVD / CD drive is installed, that is often no longer available these days. But it should not be an exclusion criterion because you can get an external for 20-30 euro. Of course, it is important that you have enough USB interfaces.
