Secure router and enable logging?

Anyone who has read my threads before that can imagine why I ask this question now.

My computer man has been on a business trip abroad since Monday and can't help me right now. I would like to make our network more secure and, if possible, log the internet usage. I've been working on the topic for a bit longer, but I still understand as much as I did before.

Does anyone know about the following devices and how to properly configure them?

Main unit: LANCOM 1783VAW

Distributor with 9 outgoing LAN cables

2x "Amplifier": LANCOM L-330agn Dual Wireles

Telephone system (designation is not on it)

I have logged in on the website with the access data. It's all in English and in my opinion confusing. I'm overwhelmed with the devices.

This has all my buddy installed. No idea what exactly it is responsible for and why so many devices. But it works fine.

If it is important… There are two of each WLAN. These always end with "-24_nomap" or "-5_nomap.

It is strange that the replacement laptop does not find any of these networks and therefore I have to use a LAN cable…

Then leave it as it is. How do you know if you have no idea about the matter that the system is unsafe?

Not directly insecure. Actually, everything should be encrypted. It's about what my daughter is doing in my network in the near future. Among other things, a protection of minors would also make sense, in my opinion…

Both in terms of protection of minors and logging of activities is usually the desire rather the father of thought.

If your daughter is only nearly as "creative" as you are, then you have no chance of getting it technically, unless you lock her in a sandbox and do not let her do it anymore: -D.

To monitor the activities you would have to do a DPI and with encryption, you generally bite on granite. In child protection the same, there's simply no reliable and effective way to enforce this. In case of doubt:

If I have physical access to a device, then it is mine too.
