Network cable (with shield or without)?

I'm planning a bit of network expansion in the apartment of my parents and thus mine. So briefly on the subject of current status: router (Easybox 803 from Vodafon), Lan cable to the powerline adapter TP Link, from there in all living rooms + kitchen (as my dad sometimes works on the notebook).

Now for the actual topic what I have: After the router, an 8-port managed switch, switch from this 2 Lan line to a LAG and lead to the switch of Synology 918+. Then a line to the powerline (TP-Link system).

So now the general question I would like to configure all Lan lines myself, already have a network cabling set, only what kind of LAN line use?

Should I use UTB or S / FTB cable?
S / FTB would indeed be shielded, only if I connect the shield on the plug, then it must be synonymous, the socket of metal or?
If the sockets need not be made of metal, then you have to put the shield on both ends of the plug or only one?

For LAN cables, the shield is always placed at both ends.

And I would always use shielded cables.

So short a question to hang up, only the total shield speak braid screen or the vein shield speak each one?

Ec

Always use shielded cables for LAN. Unshielded is actually only defined for POTS. The names are indeed from the US-American Berich, as well as the phones are connected with RJ plugs. In Germany, cables are used without a screen for telephony, but these have a star stranding, which even for higher frequencies (ADSL / VDSL) still has good transmission properties.

In a LAN patch panel, the cables to the screen are also grounded

Ah

Now I understand station. So Lan patch panels you need only if laying cable draws wall cabling, right?

And because of the patch cable, does it still make sense with the shielding in a plastic junction box, since possibly fault currents could not be derived from the shielding?

Br

Only the cable as a whole. Entwerder braid (for CAT7 cables) or aluminum foil (for CAT5). The individual cores are shielded from each other by being twisted against each other. So make sure that you connect the respective + data lines to a twisted pair.

Network cable with shield or without

if you want gaming, take Gigabit components and CAT7 cables. Because each switch, etc. Must first receive the complete telegram before he can pass it on. Otherwise the legacy would increase too much for you and the game would be lagged.
