The stand by mode and what does it do?
It only turns off all visible parts and lets the processes run in the background so that when you switch on, you can continue as if it was never off.
What do you mean by visible parts?

move, it is shut down according to Microsoft and consumes almost no energy. In the energy-saving mode, however, the main memory continues to be supplied with power, which enables the computer to be reactivated more quickly.
