Can I play online with my laptop via the hotspot on my mobile phone?

I know, I know this theoretically. But I'm concerned with the practice.

Of course I have a contract with LTE and a smartphone with the corresponding antenna.

First of all, only online shooters (CS: Source) are also planned to run the laptop. If that works stably, cloud-gaming with parsec (own server at home) would be planned. Of course, only if the latency goes along…

I really do not expect that it works without a mobile router, I just want to make it fun times

If someone here can help with similar applications of a hotspot (eg FHD streaming) that would be a good clue.

How I do it when my Inet is gone.

Turn on mobile mobile data
Connect mobile phone to pc with usb cable
Activate on setting in mobile phone and USB thethering (somewhere on network)
on the pc
You did it

Hi

I have e.g. With my mobile phone hotspot on the PC a ping of about 45ms.

If you combine the 45ms with a cloud, you would be at almost unplayable latencies.

It is definitely possible to gamble with the hotspot but in practice it would not be smart to gamble long term

Thank you. On a cable connection between "router" and laptop, I dared not hope.
Do I have to try tomorrow, home I have no mobile network.

Latency will almost always be awful over the mobile network, even if you use USB tethering.

It is synonymous if you have wlan on the phone, so the phone can also run on NEN hotspot from another phone. Will you then just feel it

I do not know if that makes a big difference, but the server is in my basement. If I get the new line, I have an upload of ~ 50 mb / s

What kind of setup do you have and what do you play online?

In the domestic W-Lan it is useless. It's only about the mobile network. Here I only use Lan.
