I might want to buy a second monitor for gaming, my laptop has an HDMI 2.0 output (no DisplayPort) and I'm thinking of buying a 4k 60hz monitor because an HDMI cable can also transmit that. But now everyone always says I should pay more attention to hz than to 4k. So I found monitors that are still in my price range with QWHD and 144hz, but can the HDMI cable even transmit WQHD at 144hz? Or doesn't it make more sense to stick to 60hz and 4k? I know there are monitors with 4k and 144hz, where you can easily switch between quality and Hertzt, but they are not in my price range.
For more than 60Hz you need HDMI2.1 or DP if my memory of the standards doesn't let me down
You need hdmi 2.1 or Dp for everything over 60hz and a cable could already be supplied with the monitor
Yes, HDMI 2.0 can be 4K 60Hz and WQHD 144Hz
