Can I use a 60Hz laptop with a 144hz external monitor

Hi Guys!

I currently own the gaming notebook MSI GL62M 7REX and only have 60Hz with the built-in display. Therefore I wanted to ask if it would be possible to use the 144Hz from an external monitor when I connect my notebook to it. Say turn off the screen on the notebook via windows key + P and also set it to "only second screen". Are the 144Hz then also reproduced?

You should have a look at which graphics card is installed in the notebook and whether it allows it.
