Microsoft laptop does not boot after a reset?

I have a Microsoft Surface Laptop 3. I had a few issues and so I reset it. Now he doesn't want to start up anymore. In the endless loop you can only see the Microsoft Windows logo. But nothing else happens.

Windows 10 was pre-installed

How long did you wait It takes a while. You should definitely not interrupt this.

wr

It's going on for maybe an hour now. But the laptop doesn't respond to anything either. So when I press the switch-off button nothing happens.

Is there a fast SSD or a slow eMMC installed? 30 GB has to be moved a bit to reset the system. It can take an hour. After the 2nd hour I would press the power button for 4 seconds and then try again.

Do you have a hard drive backup?

Resetting is quite often unreliable.

Alternatively, you can load the ISO from Win 10 with the https://www.microsoft.com/.../windows10 onto an at least 8 GB USB stick.

Then you boot from the stick (e.g. Fn + F2) and simply do a complete new installation of Win 10. This will then work for sure. 😊 👍

Do you still have important data on your laptop? If so, don't click Format Hard Drive during installation. The setup then moves the old Windows version to the Windows.old subfolder

SSD and no no backup on an external data carrier

I followed your instructions. But I don't really know how a stick boot should work. Tried all key combinations. But after all, the laptop does not turn on or does not start up.

wr

Oke has already started up. Thanks for your help. Let's see how far I can get. Do this for the first time. Now there are problems with the controls. I can't confirm anything, click and the mouse doesn't appear

Too bad. Then it gets exhausting in an emergency.

Look

this is how it should look roughly for you.

If it still does not work, the hardware could be defective.
