I would like to monitor my garden with a camera but have no Wi-Fi, have thought of a cell phone with prepaid card, and recording on laptop?

I have seen at Pearl Pearl a Wlancamera 7Links with motion sensor and tracking 360 degrees and night vision for just under 40 euro, since I have no Wi-Fi in my garden was my idea to connect a mobile phone with prepaid card to set up a hotspot, and with a laptop everything on take, the Internet flat costs at Aldi 3.99 euro per month, will be notified immediately if someone enters the garden, and have to prove an HD recording.

Desert now like if it is possible, or if there are cheaper options.

Pe

Hmm. Why do not you put a camera on a window in your house? And best not to use a cell phone for the hotspot, but a small mobile router. It only costs about 40 euro and lasts a long time.

Hello and good evening JKL213 my garden (allotment) is about 10 km away

Ta

Is synonymous but you spent a lot of Internet.

I would do it only with WLAN.

Pe

Okay, then take a NEN mobile router. Wait a minute.

How do I do it with only Wlan?

Hy JKL great that you help immediately, I have not quite so much idea, had ever looked for free radio, eigendlich the area of my garden should be within, then took my leprosy, but have no reception, I have at home a winter Repeater 1750E would that perhaps help?

You could do some research in this direction, so as a suggestion:

You call in the comments to other answers a distance of about 10 KM between residence and allotment.

Since I would recommend you an IR - wild camera with release only when needed, and a requirement message on your phone via additional IR detector + Handyapp.

You will not be able to prevent a direct break into your arbor because of the distance, but at least you could react so far that no one gets a permanent coziness in your garden.

Although I would normally like to have nothing to do with Amazon, but here for your question, I make an exception for a possible product link:

https://www.amazon.de/...B01IFG7LUC

However, when positioning and aligning such a cam, be sure to set it to capture only images of the area of your leased garden plot within the enclosure, and nothing from outside access or neighboring plots.

With false alarms by actual wildlife visit you have to count, of course, because I do not know if this system may already trigger already in a small mammal in the size of a mouse / mole, or a sparrow.

Pe

No. But if you have a line of sight to the garden, you can set up a Wi-Fi radio link.

Take a look at the netclub free ticket. It is free of charge and also offers free 200MB data volume. This does not run off like many other Sim. That would be even cheaper than ALDI and if the 200MB times should not be enough, you can still take ALDI…

Hello Parhalia2, first of all thank you for your help, eigendlich the area where my garden is located should be covered with free wireless wlan, which would make the whole thing so much easier and, above all, cheaper, I took my laptop in the garden and searched for wireless networks, but it was only a network to see, of O2, secured and no access, it would make sense if I put a Fritz on my laptop! WLAN repeater 1750E connect, in order to reach perhaps also the free radio? I'm looking for as I said for the most cost-effective way. Lg.Diddieck

Hello funcky49, thank you for your help, could you also tell me what kind of sim card and their continuous operation costs, so my for several months? Lg. Diddieck

The W-Lan at home would not use you alone, since its range (s) is limited to a few dozen to 100 meters (the latter only with appropriate outdoor antennas with sufficient transmit power).

The camera unit in your allotment would also have to be permanently connected to a Wi-Fi if you want to make your planned remote monitoring permanent. But that would only work if you also had a 24h - free access to a (foreign) hotspot.

Thank you for your tip, there's what of 28 days free of charge, can also find nothing in the tariff what the sim card then costs after 28 days, basic charge ect.

An info would be nice, Lg. Diddieck

For a continuous stream, you could forget a Prepayd data plan because 1 minute video stream in the lowest At Youtube @ 144p (correctly read, 256 × 144 pixels @ 50 FPS) already consume about 512 KByte in data volume.

At 10 FPS that would still be about 102.4 Kbytes per minute. One month with 30 days has 43,200 minutes. 43.200 × 102.4 KByte = ~ 4.22 GByte.
