Old programs get started (NT4 / 98/2000 under XP)?

I have an old digital camera that should work again.

The camera needs the software from the manufacturer Kodak without these, the pictures are bad (quite simply).

Now I have tried the software under Windows 10 to install (synonymous with compatibility) is not!

Windows XP also not (and Windows 7 not).

What do I do now? For Windows 2000, I find no driver for the laptop (which can also be installed) (IBM R31)

Is there a compatibility mode in XP or does it have to be Windows 2000?

Em

What is the name of the software and the digital camera model exactly?

Pe

Then it must be Windows 2000.

But no problem: Mach ne VM out, then everything works out of Windows 10 out.

(even rhymes)

I would look in your place for an alternative and current software, instead of experimenting with outdated drivers and / or the like around. But only as a tip.

Is it really Kodak own software and only drivers? If it comes to a software for editing the images, you could safely run it on Windows 10 "migrate".

Which camera model is there at issue? If you are interested, otherwise I create an image of the CD (* .iso), send it directly or via PM and then take a look at it myself.

The compatibility mode has been available since Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2) and can also be found in Windows XP under Properties in the context menu of Windows Explorer.

There are actually different solutions for your problem that could be considered. Among other things, a virtual machine (VM) with Windows (XP or older) in which everything is installed, by "repackaging" the software or alternative program offers.

Dr

At least one of the first after camera model and name of the software asks. I would be really surprised if there's nothing useful as an alternative. Even if not, you could cobble together old "canned food" too. 😉

The software is called Kodak Photodesk, but the "current" version does not work with a system that was on the market after 2000.

The camera itself is called Kodak DCS 315 is a DSLR, based on the Nikon Pronea 6i.

As for the software, I'm not completely helpless, I know that there's current software, but this is so limited that I can't use because the features I need missing.

I have here now a computer with Windows 2000 (IBM R31) only he finds no drivers.

I can do a lot more with that now. Which "current" version was tested by you, ie which version number? The 4.3 or another?
