Save data from formatting?

When I connect my USB stick to my laptop, I see that it needs to be formatted. Can I still save my data somehow? I've already tried to use the Recuva program, but it doesn't work. I also tried to reinstall the driver for the disk, but unfortunately that didn't work either. Does anyone still have ideas?
