Laptop to external monitor connect more battery power?

I have a laptop (Full hd 1080) I want to connect to my monitor, which is also full hd to have a larger picture when playing. My question is now whether more battery is consumed, even if I turn off the laptop screen so that only the monitor displays the image. Is it a pity on my laptop in the long run? Question because I'm more of a cautious person and I still need the laptop for studying.

If your monitor does not have its own power supply, the battery of the laptop has to do more = higher consumption.

But even if the external monitor has its own power supply your laptop / battery is required more because of the graphics.

You're home with your monitor, then run the laptop with external monitor via power supply.

Since you have a connection for an external monitor, it will not hurt the laptop.
