I would like to equip an older laptop with an SSD. Cloning the old HDD is mentioned as a basic principle everywhere. Is this also possible if the HDD with 1 TB (10% occupied) is to be transferred to a 250 GB SSD, or both data carriers must be the same size. The software I have is MinniToolWizard.
Goes without problems.
Yes will work
Go. However, it is always better to reinstall Windows. In terms of SSD prices, I recommend a 480, 500 or 512GB SSD.
I happen to have a brand new desktop. 1TB SSD.
But I wouldn't go below 512. Doesn't cost 200 euro.
Just from the picture there's an article. Moving to SSD.

That's from Chip now.
Goes wonderfully.
In theory it works fine - but don't you want to start again?
So much rubbish goes away that the computer becomes even faster.
