Problem:
After starting the notebook, it takes about 30 minutes before it can be used
The following technical data:
Age: 4 years
HDD: 1 TB (of which only 48% occupied (483 GB))
RAM: 12 GB
CPU: i5
OS: Win 10
No additional programs in use / installed other than Office
Only a few programs in the autostart that require little attention
The notebook was only used for office activities. Overall short runtime
Notebook up to date in terms of software updates
No detection by antimalware bytes
I don't understand why this notebook is so slow even though it has been little used (in terms of operating time and installed software). The hard drive is not even half full.
Is it common for tee times to be so much longer? Causes)?
Have you ever run a second virus program over it?
It sounds like a driver or software problem,
The cause is usually a faulty Windows installation.
Format hard disk and install Windows NEW.
Then check in the device manager whether there are entries with yellow exclamation marks, this indicates missing or incorrect drivers
The long start-up time is not normal even after prolonged use. You can open the Task Manager and see which programs are slowing down your system. Also go to the event viewer and look there for errors. A very common cause is a damaged hard drive.
How can it be due to a faulty installation if it has always worked before and the drop in performance did not come suddenly but over the long term?
How can I tell if the hard drive is the problem?
What exactly should you watch out for in the task manager?
Yeah nothing found.
Start the Explorer by pressing the Windows and E keys at the same time. Right-click on your system drive (usually c) in the navigation area and select "Properties". Click the Tools tab. Click on "Check" then "Scan Drive". The drive is now checked. This can take a long time, so be patient!
In the task manager go to the first tab "Processes". Click on the "CPU" column header until you see a v. The processes with the highest CPU capacity are now displayed in descending order. Make a note of the particularly noticeable ones. You can also right-click a process and then select "Find Online". The "Bing" search engine is now automatically started with the corresponding entry.
Thank you very much for your detailed answer.
