Wi-Fi connection but no connection to the router?

Since yesterday evening my desktop (with WLAN stick) no longer connects to the router. So actually it is already connected according to the WLAN settings in Windows. I then tried to connect to the router via the browser via the router IP (i.e. IP in the address line) but without success.

All other devices connect to the WLAN. I.e. It can only be due to software or a WLAN stick right?

I then checked the router settings on my laptop to see if my desktop was displayed there. That was also the case.

After a network diagnosis was carried out on my desktop, Windows spat out that the DNS server was not responding. I then tried to connect manually over 8.8.8.8 Google's DNS server. No success either.

Now I don't know what to do next 😐 I'm not that fit when it comes to the whole topic. So if you could help me there that would be great 😊

Well, according to the router, the PC is also connected. I've already ordered a new one, but it won't arrive until Monday. And since I have to study for an exam, it would be a lot more relaxed to have the PC as well. And as soon as possible.

You could check again with an RJ45 cable.

WLAN profile somehow messy? Delete it and create a fresh one, maybe you can help

I once explained here:

Or systematically isolate the error, here Microsoft explains it very well with step-by-step instructions. (Pay particular attention to the point: Command prompt Run as administrator> Yes… Enter netsh winsock reset…)

Thank you, it works again 😊❀️ You saved my weekend. Now I don't have to look at my cell phone 12 hours a day to calculate old exams. It wasn't your guidance that solved the problem. Circle that for that. I suppose the DNS flush helped.

Thanks for the feedback! πŸ‘ this also helps others who are struggling with similar problems.

Nice to hear that Microsoft's step-by-step guide helped.
