As far as I know it doesn't matter which operating system you use, it just has to be bootable on a stick or CD… Then it can also be installed.
Of course it is possible to install a completely new OS and that works mostly without problems in the graphical interface.
The only question is, why do you want a Linux distribution that is designed for pen testing and why you can't even install an OS in return?

You have to download the appropriate Linux distribution as an ISO file and copy it "bootable" to a data carrier.
