Are there still laptops with drives?

Are there still laptops with a drive? And can I play MP3s, CDs and DVDs with it?

I just tried to find something suitable on the Internet. But didn't get any further. Is there such a thing at all?

My older laptop has a defective drive. That's why I'm looking for something new. I would like to buy something here on site (Saturn, media market).

Well, in times of Spotify and Netflix, almost no one wants a drive anymore. The laptops are getting flatter there's no space for a drive that few people miss.

I would take an external USB drive - costs about 25 euro. Or simply have the drive replaced with a PC screwdriver.

If you basically want to avoid buying a new notebook (now), you would have two (inexpensive) options:

Either you buy an external DVD burner for USB 3.0 or 2.0:

Or you try to replace the built-in DVD drive with a replacement device.

These parts are actually flat standard drives, the front of which can often be replaced, or plugged on as a bezel.

For some models, it says directly which brands they would be suitable for.

Otherwise the height is important: 9.5mm and 12.7mm. You would have to measure that for yourself beforehand.

Such external DVD burners can later be connected to notebooks and desktop PCs that do not have an optical drive themselves.

This would make you much more flexible in the selection of the new device if you no longer have to pay attention to it.

That's why I also have an external 3.5 "floppy disk drive for USB 2.0. Because even my Pentium 4 from 2005 had no such drive installed internally. Only I still had a lot of such data carriers…

I'm always looking for used ones. I currently have T60. I exchanged HDD for bigger ones. All overhauled by it-mixx and guaranteed.
