Where and how do you read out the Windows 10 code from the notebook?

Have a netbook with Win 10. The code for the license is not attached under the netbook. Now they told me you could read the code somewhere.

I want to replace the hard drive with an SSD and need the code for reinstalling Win 10. How do I get that?

Please just explain, I'm a PC layman.

You can read the key with freeware. If you have registered with Microsoft, you do not need the code anymore. You skip the entry and log in to your Microsoft account after the installation. Win 10 will be activated automatically sometime.

So

The product key is no longer on the computer with computers since Windows 8. If the computer was shipped with Windows 10, the key is stored in the UEFI / BIOS. You can always reinstall Windows 10 without knowing the key.

If it is a "digital license", a hash value from the computer motherboard is deposited with Microsoft, also here Windows 10 is automatically activated after a new installation

When replacing the disk against an SSD you can copy the old disk 1: 1 to the SSD, more specifically, one clones the disk with a suitable tool.
