Uninstall GRUB on Linux Kali?

A few weeks ago I set up a dual-boot system on my laptop with Windows 10 Pro. I wanted to make sure that both operating systems are independent of each other and I can initially choose what I want to boot.

Now my Windows had to make an update and the subsequent restart, there was only one blue screen, which was synonymous not fixed (important system data probably lost).

Shortly afterwards, I deleted the partition formatted by me for Linux from Linux - because what do I want with a partition, where a broken Windows on it is?

My question now: How can I uninstall GRUB + Linux so that I have my Windows again?

In the meantime, I no longer feel like Linux Kali anymore and the reasons why I installed Linux a few weeks ago have also been resolved.

Here is a guide in several variants. Although tuned to Ubuntu, but fits all Linux.Distris:

Okay, for me anyway only the first option is in question, because my Windows is deleted yes… But thank you very much.

There you do not have to uninstall anything. Run Windows installation and you're done.
Windows overwrites the first part of Grub anyway, whether you do something before or not.

You can also uninstall only programs within an operating system. You can't uninstall a real operating system.

So just install windows? Okay thanks

That's the way it is! Must only include in the partitioning of the previous from Linux with or imposing a FAT or NTFS file system. Those are then further drives under Windows.

Hi

Now my Windows had to make an update and the subsequent restart, there was only one blue screen, which was synonymous not fixed (important system data probably lost).

First the good news: Your data is still there.

The Windows update obviously overwrote the bootloader (GRUB), so you can't boot anything anymore.

Shortly afterwards, I deleted the partition formatted by me for Linux from Linux - because what do I want with a partition, where a broken Windows on it is?

That has been thoughtless, because there are your data on it, they were not gone just because Windows does not start anymore

You have not formatted a hard disk but partitions.

My question now: How can I uninstall GRUB + Linux

No operating system can be uninstalled, it is either overwritten by another or the partition (with the file system) is formatted.

The bootloader, if in the MBR, will not be removed. This either makes the new installation or you have to delete the part of the MBR in a Linux live system with dd.

dd if = / dev / null of = / dev / sda / count = 1 size = 446 status = progress

The reasons why I installed Linux a few weeks ago have also been resolved.

Too bad, the great freedom is worth the effort.

Thank you very much for your answer. I have no important data on the laptop and therefore had no problem deleting the partition.

So is it enough if I reinstall Windows with a USB stick? → Windows "then takes care of everything"?
