I want to buy the Ultrabase x6 for my Thinkpad x60s. Unfortunately I do not know if I can use the Thinkpad with battery in the Ultrabase.
Of course, this is possible with all available batteries, ie the small prismatic, the small with round cells and also with the high-capacity batteries, which protrude behind the Thinkpad. That's why this "gutter" is at the back of the Ultrabase, so that the additional row of round cells finds room.
I would worry about the temperature though; my x61s regularly runs itself down due to overheating when it's in the dock…

I originally had an 8-cell battery from Lenovo and now have a full-size (2200 mAh) replica of Patona, the fit both anyway.
