I'm very scared of installing anything on my laptop, whatever it is. Now I would like to download mods and Steam to play Sims 4. But when I want to download Steam it says "cloudfare.steamstatic.com Execute / Save / Cancel" and it is an .exe file (SteamSetup.exe).
Now I'm scared of downloading it. Is that normal what it says there or can I get a virus from Steam? And is it free?
This is just the installation file from Steam, everything is safe.
Steam is safe, so you don't have to worry about it. Creating an account is also free. The games there in the shop cost money, of course, even if there are a bunch of free games.
(almost) all files to install something are .exe
By the way, Steam is safe
You should only download steam from the manufacturer, i.e. From here:
https://store.steampowered.com/...com/about/
then that is also certain…
