So I bought a PC, but the new SSD is a long time coming and won't be coming until next week.
A 64GB eMMc SSD with Windows is installed in my old notebook, so my idea is to simply take it over and boot from it.
The question now is how do I get the SSD out of my Lincplus P1 and what format is it (my mainboard has no M.2 slots). What do you all mean?
Since you probably don't have an adapter either, you can probably forget about it again.
What?
That you can use the SSD. Without an M2 slot or adapter (PCI board) that won't be a problem.
That will not work and is not advisable.
eMMCs are bad mass storage devices, which are usually also soldered on. They are also significantly slower than SSDs.
Wait, isn't an eMMc memory soldered?
I strongly believe that the memory chips are soldered directly into the laptop. It is therefore not possible to build it out and then pack it into a PC. Unfortunately, you probably have to wait.
Not necessarily.
Well… I can still go into the BIOS 😁
Yes😂
But don't you have a transitional old HDD or something?
No, this is my first PC, I got it as a gift without an SSD and do you want to know what is built in there?
Why not?
Count up
So:
DeepCool Genome Gamer Storm ROG Edition approx. 350 euro 🤔
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula (890FX chipset)
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition 😑
8GB DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte G750H 750W power supply
MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
I mean 10 years ago was the high end if these parts already existed 10 years ago… But of course I will soon be upgrading with a current board and good processor. But I still don't think this configuration makes sense… I wonder what the certain someone who gave me the PC probably thought…
But the PC looks awesome. Look at the picture above.
The picture is of course of the best quality…
It looks good and it's not absolutely bad either.
I only play Minecraft 😌
The PC is enough for that
You can still buy eMMC plug-in cards occasionally.
However, the memory size is limited to 128GB.
And the (roughly) 90MB / s reading speed is not (more) exhilarating either.
