Use Microsoft Office version from smartphone to laptop?

I bought a laptop with no Microsoft Office preinstalled. That means that I would have to pay for it and that is quite expensive.

However, I had Microsoft Apps pre-installed on my old smartphone and could also register there for free

Now my question: Can I log on to my laptop with this data and use it for free?

PS: I can't try it right now, otherwise I wouldn't ask this question

You only set up a Microsoft account with this data. That does not mean buying a notebook-compatible office.

What do you want to do with your laptop? If it is not a question of 100% identical layout and business applications, the free Libre Office is sufficient. You are also safe from macro viruses such as Emotet.

You can download it for free and safely here:

(Unfortunately I have to work with MS Office professionally, because we need compatibility with certain special software, privately I write with Libre Office)

Microsoft Office for Android is something of its own, it won't work

If you don't want to pay anything, use OpenOffice or LibreOffice

If you can loosen 22 euro, get an Office OEM Key from MMOGA

Look here: https://softwarefreund.de/microsoft-office-2019-home-and-student-oem.html Here you can get Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 cheap. That is just the product key. You will receive it by email after payment. This license is permanent.

After you have received the product key, go to https://setup.office.com/ and follow the instructions of the assistant. The activation will then be saved permanently in your Microsoft account. If you have to reinstall it, click on "Install using your Microsoft account". You no longer have to enter the key.

That is so cheap is because it is an OEM version. OEM versions are full versions which e.g. With a computer. A court ruling in 2000 ruled that OEM versions can also be bought and sold separately.
